Headlight Problem with 99 C5

OK guys, my Pastor has a 99 C5 and asked me about his headlights making noise. I had him turn on the lights, the doors went up and worked perfectly. I told him to turn them off and the doors went down perfectly. HOWEVER, once in the down position, the motors kept going.
The open/close ***** on both motors kept turning for about 3-5 seconds, then turned off. This is not an intermittent problem, happens all the time.

Any thoughts on the matter ? Hate to have him buy 2 new motors if he doesnt have to.

Sounds like the gears are stripped. Is it both motors making the noise? He needs the brass gears.

Yes, both motors. I was affraid of that.

180 does not work

Hi, Some posts say turning motor 180 degrees with linkage off will fix it. On the c2 vettes maybe, I just did this on my 2003 c5 and the noise/run on is now after opening instead of closing. I just ordered the new gear from b franker and I hope that will fix it. Dean
