Most annoying when merging onto a freeway when you're accelerating and turning at the same time. Right when you want to get one last look over your shoulder, the belt locks...so you just hunch down deeper into the seat, press the gas harder, and hope there's no one there to hit you
It is designed to do that. Part of owning a real performance car. Although, I find it disturbing at times I wouldn't want to get rid of it. I find it useful most of the time. Run the seat all the way back, pull the belt all the way out and fasten it, push the belt back into the retractor, run the seat forward until the lap belt feels like it is going to cut you in half, pull up to the starting line and when you hit the throttle the shoulder belt locks and its almost like having a 5 point harness. Don't have to loop the belts or do other things to tighten things up like you have to do with other cars.
Almost forgot to mention. If it locks up on you pulling up to a stop sign or pulling into traffic just lean back real hard to compress the seat back foam and the shoulder belt cinch releases.
