Default Texas Speed Headers?

I am looking to purchase some long tube headers for my C5, and I'm on a budget (still in highschool!)

I priced out a couple long tubes at around $1,000 to $1,500, and unfortunately cannot spend that much

However, a reliable friend informed me of Texas Speed Long tube Headers, which I found for a little under $600

The link:

http://texas-speed.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=656

Can you guys give me some opinions or advice on these headers? Or possible some other headers that are around the same price??

Thanks

I thought they had some fitment issues.... I'd get LG streets again, great header not too expensive, but they come with everything you need and they FIT

They have unresolved fittment issues.. Some fit and some don't.. Do a search.. You will find a mixed bag of opinions from happy buyers to pissed off buyers.. Its a $600 coin toss

and another question:

From my research, it looks like what Ive found is that typical gains from longtube headers in C5 Corvettes are from 25-35 rwhp and 25-35 ft. lbs of torque @ rear wheels. Is this what I should expect (I already have exhaust, intake, 4.10 gears, if this affects anything)

thanks for all opinions

Yeah, there is 30 HP there - but probably only 10-12 if you don't get a good tune. A good tuner will charge $400 minimum, so better add that to the price.
Also, the big numbers come from a complete system - high-flow cats and X-pipe.

I run the texas speed headers and I used the connector pipe to tie them into my stock H-pipe. The ceramic coating finish on them is not good and will rust after about a year.

If I were you on a budget, i would purchase these headers and get them jet hot coated for $200. Also while your at it do the A&A exhaust mod to your mufflers for $50. You will be very happy.

i have the TSP's on mine with Xpipe and they were NICE. My only issue was the the Xpipe needed to be expanded slightly where it meets up with the headers. If you have and X already to may need to have a shop get the Xpipe to match upto the headers. Drip the starter when you put them in if you do it from the top.

I would never run any Texas Speed products on my car again, ever....

Call the pros like LG, or AR and not have to worry about issues down the road.

Were running the TSP Headers and they are great. Connected to there 3" x pipe and a full 3" exhaust from Stainless works. The headers work and look great, no issues. The craftsmanship of the x-pipe sucks, but it works.

Go ahead and buy the ones from LG, its your money to waste.

or you can look at the for sale section. Nothing wrong with used headers. I got some barely used dynatec headers/hiflow cats and x pipe for 850 shipped. They are just like the lg pros with a 4 bolt flange instead of slipfit.

U cant run their (TSP) anyway as ur car is 2002 according to ur profile, and thier headers fit 99-2000 only as Air fitting is different, otherwise i would not mind buying thier headers, u can call LG for thier street headers or keep checking on sale section for good priced headers, if any TPIS headers comes here jump on it, they r SS and perform an dfit very good and price might be ur range or less than that.
