Default Tire Rack Aluminum Jack ????

Hello All. Did a forum search for the Aluminum Jack being offered at Tire Rack and nothing shows. I'm about to add a jack to my track kit and am wondering if anyone has experience with this jack. It's a 2-ton and weighs 50 lbs., 15 pounds heavier than the Harbor Freight 1.5-ton favored by a lot of folks here. Opinions welcomed. Here's a link.

Thanks!
Bob

I have the Harbor Freight, and have no complaints at all.
It will easily lift the front of my 4300 lb Caddy SRX.
Of course they are all made in China, so quality/safety comparisons are probably moot.
So unless you might occasionally need to lift that extra 500 pounds, go with the less expensive one - lighter is also good if you are taking it to the track.
Take the money you save and spend it on really good jackstands - they are what really hurt you if they fail.

Default Aluminum jacks

Our local Corvette club has a pair of aluminum floor jacks in the club trailer we us for autocross tech inspection. They are light weight units sold by Sears. Good quality. I bought one for myself for about $150.

Harbor Freight here too. They MIGHT be just a tad lower as there are no wheel on the front. It has 1 wide roller between the main rails. Don't know if the still have them,,but they used to have 2 sizes(I have them both) a little larger, pretty much full sized,,and a more compact model.I've used both for a variety of heavy lifts and have been and still are functioning fine. I have had them for enough years that I can't remember how long I've had them,,,NO problems!! When you go Sears,Tire Rack etc. you are adding another middle man ='s a little higher price. More than likely ALL are made in china(sigh),,you can't get away from it. Even a lot of "GM" replacement parts are made there,as well as Mexico and other countries!!

Will the harbor Freight jack fit under a stock bolt lowered coupe with pucks installed?

The tirerack jack is two stage and the two stage HF jack is not that much cheaper. The singe stage HF jack is the one that is cheap. I have the single stage HF jack and think it is great. The two stage jack will be slightly faster to use since it goes up faster before it meets resistance.

Yes!!! I just picked one up myself today. Low profile and lightweight. The minimum height is only 3" while tha max is 14-3/4. It is also a twist handle to lower. I'm very impressed with the quality of this jack especially at $79.99 (sale price). All their other Aluminum Racing Jacks are on sale as well.

I also picked up a pair of 3 Ton Jack Stands for $18.99
