There are a few brands. I would like a very short shifts and really smooth working. I might be mistaken about the name , BVM or MBV, 100% 3 letters ,something like that . Not very common brand. Actually I had tried to shift and it was VERY SHORT. Anybody recognizes my misspell ? Plz help with advice
You can read about aftermarket shifters for an eternity from the information that is already on the forum. Read some of the existing threads. The only way to really know what shifter you will like best is to try them. I personally, have a Hurst, and did not consider anything else.
I did research already. They are 250 each from the company web , they look interesting but I remember shifting by one of those Will get one of those .It's gonna be amazing to drive. Thanks all of you guys.
I have MGW (35%) and am not that crazy about it. Although light years better than stock (the shifts are very short) it pops out of 1st occasionally and the 4/5 shift is tough. Also very stiff and notchy. You get used to it though. I'd get a late model C6 Z06 shifter instead. Just my .02 worth. Good Luck. Install is a piece of cake. Their optional shift **** is nice too.
I installed the new style MGW last weekend and put about 750 miles on the car since. I do not have any problem shifting into any gear. The throws are short and firm and not sloppy. I got the C6 style due to it being 1" back from center. To me this puts it in a more comfortable position. As for shifting, most of it is wrist action with little arm movement.
I was going to post my thoughts and pictures, but guess a moderator didn't like my thread or pictures give to much of the patent pending details away.

Went for another 300 mile ride today and was hammering the car. I'm starting to get the rattling that people are talking about. Noticed it about 10 times. To me I don't mind it.
I just installed the NEW design MGW shifter and love it no rattle not too notchy, Just right this is the only shifter to buy. Oh yeah shifters don't cause trannys to pop out of gear.
I'm very happy with my Hurst. However, many people here seem to like the new MGW. I had one of their shifters in an 03 Cobra and it was nice. Pro 5.0 is supposed to release a shifter for corvettes in May. I had one of those in an 01 Mustang and it was the best aftermarket shifter I have ever used.

Just curious, what's the "NEW design"? I have what I believe to be new design, at least since last summer. Am happy with it, it is quite stiff and can be a little noisy if you keep your hand on the shifter, quiet otherwise.
I will admit that I like the longer shaft, the short throw with 35% is pretty rough day to day. Not at all a prob if you stay in 1-4, but grabbin 5&6 is really a delicate move to avoid finding 3rd. Rev can be difficult. I highly recommend the longer shaft as it does give enough throw which helps confidence you're actually in gear immensely.
