strange smell

strange smell

So there is a smell coming from the car that smells like rotten eggs what could it be? plus my wife told that when i "got on it" some ashy smoke came out on the exhaust?? any thoughts??

A catalytic converter that's not working or an over-rich mixture can cause the rotten egg smell.

If it gets worse, it might be a dead mouse!

My ex-gf had one in her air conditioning ducts once and it was BAD! Even after it was removed it stunk for a while longer...

Check your MAF to make sure it's clear. If it is, probably your cats. Had the same problem a couple years ago with my LS1 Z28 and the air lid was not sealed too well and the MAF screen was loaded with crap.
