Has anyone installed the MGW shifter? I am considering it and I am curious in regard to how good it is.

I have a manual also but really have nothing to compare it with. Why do you think you need the new shifter? I thought about it also but the stock shifter does its job.

I have had 3 C5's two of them 6 spd's. I always thought that the throw was too long. I read in Corvette Fever about installing a MGW and what a difference it made so I thought I would look for input. When I was shopping for the Vette I bought I had conversations with a Dealer selling His own car and He put a C6 Z06 shifter in His car. He said that there was nothing like it! The only problem is that the Z06 shifter is pricey!

Yup! There's never a shortage of opinions...and never a consensus of those opinions, either. You probably won't get a consensus of opinion this time either. We're all different in what we like and expect.
Your best bet is to find someone with different shifters and try them out.
Or, you can do what many owners do...buy a shifter, sell it and try another shifter until they find something they like, or something newer and better comes out. Watch the classified ads forum for deals.
I did a lot of research before I made my choice. Actually, the oem shifter never bothered me at all. I did shorten it by 3/4" and found I liked that better than oem just due to the height.
I didn't want noise or vibrations in my choice, so I chose the B&M "Sport" shifter with the rubber isolation similar to oem. I still like it in spite of the new products like the C6/Z06 shifter or MGW or 5.0 PRO...

My MGW was the best mod I have done to my car. Alot more soild feel. It does take considerably more effort to stir it around, but nothing you don't get the hang of. Money well spent
