Default TPMS Programing ?

I have a 1997. I'm getting the TPMS Failure warning on the DIC and the left front tire is not displaying a pressure. I recently purchased the car, so I have no idea how old the sensors are. I ran the fault codes in the DIC and only got one current fault, the C2100 Left front sensor fault. I went into the TPMS training function and was able to get a horn prompt from all 4 sensors. The left front still does not display a pressure. I assume this verifies that the battery is bad in the left front sensor, but my question is why I received a horn prompt on that sensor?

You said it, if you programmed them and are not getting a reading after driving (which you need to do after programming them if you didnt know) then the battery is dead or weak and is not strong enough to transmit a signal. If you need a rebuilt set with new batteries let me know. Gen I sensors are only supposed to last ~7 years so you are way above that.

I have a similar problem. Left front not showing any pressure, but after it got hot it would show L-XXX. I installed new battery in my left front TPS and now it will not program. Now both left and right front TPS show L-XXX R-XXX. Any suggestions? Do I need a new sensor. Checked now battery after installation and it showed 3.35v. Thanks for your help.

You could have messed the circuit board up, its VERY easy to ruin them if you are not careful. I would stick to the guys who have done a ton of them for over 2 years now. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...post1569093177
