Replacing 2000 Brake pads- what do I have?
They are fine and I would like to replace them with the same thing. They look very gray in color with small flecks of silver running through the compound. The standard AC Delco pads shown to me at my local chevy dealer looked a bit darker with what looked like copper flecks running through the pad material. Could the old pads I have be ceramic? They have a plastic or vinyl looking material on the back side to keep the squeeks down, not your usual metal shims. If I held them in the sunlight just right they had copper overall hue to them, almost holographic like. These pads have been on there since I got the car just under 15,000 miles, so unless the first owner put on an after market pad, these are AC Delco OEM.
What do guys think?
