Default Hot & Cold

I"m having a problem with my heat & Air. One side blows hot while the other blows cold. I've been told it's a calabration problem but if that's it where? Is it in the Climate Control unit or somewhere else, how do you fix it?

I am having the same exact problem with my 1998 vette. I am looking for a fix as well. If you have found a fix please let me know what it was.

depends which side is blowing hot, if it's the passanger side then all u need todo is recharge ur ac. if it's the driver side then ur actuator vent needs to be changed. that's not easy take it to a corvette specialist I would suggest for either side try to recharge the ac first.

I gave up and took it to the dealer. They are saying the actuator is working but it has slipped so the position is the problem. They will re set it for $250

Hey Chris,

Start by writing down all the codes and the reset them with key on, engine off. You should then hear the system slowly cycle all the actuators to prove postion, 6 times.

When that indexing ends - check again for codes, if they come right back...

On mine, I could clear a left actuator code, but it would come right back.

...I used a zoom-spout lube to spritz the bushing and tweaked the slotted shaft slightly with a common screwdriver and that got it working again.

Hey DRR, I pulled fuse 18 and 27, disconnected battery, cleared codes on dic, codes return immediatley, b0363 and b0446. When i clear codes i can hear the actuator moving. When i turn the driver temp adjust up and down, i hear actuator moving, when i turn passenger temp up and down i don hear anything. So is there a way to get to the actuator to adjust the passenger to cold and leave it that way? Dont really care if it goes to hot. How did you get to it to tweak it?

Thanks

Hey Chris, My problem was with the left (driverside) actuator. I have not had to look for the pass side. Based on info in the links below I don't think you can get to it by removing the glove box.

Here is a good ref for codes...http://www.aceesolutions.com/vette/2002dtc.html

hey, i found a temporary fix for the cold on driver side, hot on pass side. i cut the heater hoses and installed a shut off valve on each of them, a ball valve. so when i shut the water flow off to the heater core, no more hot air on the pass side, actually it blows cool to. so its good for summer time, and if you need heat just open the hood and open the valves and you have it. i realize that this isnt a correct fix for the pass actuator, but its a lot easier than taking the dash out and only takes a few minutes to do. so if you have this problem and and wanna ride around this summer in a cool car without a bunch of work give it a try.
