Figured I would post up a few pictures of the tranny removal. Went much easier than I expected. Got everything loose up to the tranny in one afternoon then dropped it tonight. Next step is a run to the car wash.
I've done this job a few times. It will be easier if you leave the torque tube in the car or if it also has to come out, pull them out bolted together and then reinstall seperately.
Second gear went out a while back. Going to freshen it up with new clutches, bands, and a shift kit. I also decided to go with a 3200 Vig stall since I had it out. Id like to do some 3.73 rear gears but I will probably wait on that right now.

Don't forget to put the catback in place before you raise the carriage.
FWIW getting a pair of harbor freight tranny scissor jacks were VERY helpful to help articulate the drivetrain when it goes in. $150 well spent!! Balancing that stuff on floor jacks is for amateurs ;-)
It was interesting keeping it balanced right. I put a ratchet strap around the tranny and through the jack which is probably the only reason we got it to work with a regular floor jack lol. I might see if any of my buddies have a tranny jack for going back in with it.
