Hey guys I have a rear end leak in between the transmission and the differential. There is a O-ring (sometimes refered to as the rubber shaft seal) right in between, which seems to be the culprit, does anyone know what the part number for this is? Also, where can I get it? I have a 6 speed if that makes any difference. Thanks

iam fixing mine right now. i m in abingdon. mine was the left side seal but i replaced all the seals and the large rubber o-ring while i was at it. i have a thread up but can't find it. the forum is all screwed up i think.
u can get the part numbers from the thread by junkman or i can go dig into the trash and get you the numbers. it came to about 140 from the dealer. 2 side seals, 2 0-rings, and the gm gasket maker. I just finished filling her up tonight. now i have to find my oil leak. this car gotta love it. kvn
here is the link. i am updating the work so far. i m about to change the fuel filter next.
Thanks! I will keep an eye on your thread for further pictures. In your last post you stated "i see a slight pooling where the diff meets the trans. kvn" That is also what I have, I think there is an o-ring there, but as you say people use RTV or GM silicone... I got the shaft seals but they are not leaking at all, just between the diff and trans.
after i cleaned it all up i don't see the leak...... i haven't driven it yet but when i looked carefully before I filled her back up with tranny fluid, i did see some seepage coming from the filler bolt. that bitch wasn't really torqued down. hopefully this is where the leak was from. i am about to swap the fuel filter out when since i have it on the lift. that tranny fluid and diff fluid are some nasty sticky stuff. kvn
