Default Hypertech PPIII

I was told by the Hypertech people that the PPIII is not set up to handle 3.42 geqrs....has anyone got one that can tell me if this is so.. 98 C-5 A-4.. West coast corvette sells the 3.42 and says you need a Hypertech or other computer to make it all work..Help!! who can give me the right information.. :crazy: :crazy: :crazy:

The the HPP3 will only give you 2.73 and 3.15 as options (since this was the only thing that was offered by the factory for the auto trans).

However, you can use the HPP3 for the 3.42 axle by selecting the 3.15 ratio and setting the tire size to 29" within the programmer. This will net the same speedo effect as a 3.42 axle and the standard 26" tires.

I have a 99' auto and my HPPIII programmer does offer all three gear ratio options. I don't see why a 98' would be any different.
