Wheel Offset gurus-- check my work please
While I have seen a lot of people talking about wheel/tire combos they have, people rarely talk about their specific wheel offsets.
So I tried to figure this out on my own.
I have an '04 Z06. I believe my stock rear wheels are 18x10.5 w/ +58mm offset.
I'm thinking of adding a 2" rear fender flares with 12" wide wheels. I want to make these wheels fit this scenario, without the use of spacers, just with proper offset.
Now if I've understood all this offset stuff...
If I want all the extra wheel width to fill outboard from my stock wheels, I'll need to get an 18x12 w/ +39.37mm offset.
This will move the new wheel out about 1.5" from stock fit. So if I wanted to fill out the new 2" flares, I'd need an 18x12 w/ +50.8mm offset.
Obviously I have a few millimeters to work with, but am I all messed up or did I understand the offset stuff I read?

Thanks for your input....

i run 19x12 +59mm wheels with 5/8" spacers and L5 flares. i still needed to add the extra space even though my wheels are already 12" wide.
if my wheels had the added spacer depth built in, they would be 19x12 +43mm since 5/8" = .625" = 15.875mm which more or less equals 16mm.
then the 16mm is "added" to the +59 to give me +43mm.

The 39mm offset is right for the 1.5" outward, but the 50mm for the 2" isn't. You'd want to subtract the 12mm(1/2") from the offset, not add it. On a 12" wheel, a 40mm offset will stick out exactly 1.5" from where your 10.5" 58mm offset wheel does now. If you want 2", you need an offset of 28mm. The wheels I'm adding for my L5 flares are 12" wide with a 44mm offset. I agree with the post above that somewhere between 40-45mm looks the best(to me anyway).
Hope this makes sense

Just took a while to sink in, I see where I made my mistake
JDMVETTE, yes I am looking for a setup like yours, was just wondering what offset I would need if didn't want to use spacers.
Again, thank you both!!
