Default LG solid bushing to thin?

In the middle of a clutch install on a 2000 FRC with a 10mm torque tube. I pulled the tube apart to replace the rear bushing with a solid LG unit and a new BMW up front.

Well I start to bolt down the solid bushing and its not thick enough. The centering pin bottoms out before the flange mates up. I mesure the rubber bushings at 1.100" and the solid one is dead nuts at 1.0"

Anyone run into this problem? I want to put it back together but theres no way Im using washers and no way Im putting two rubber ones back in there.

I have a pic if anyone wants to see.

My first thought would be to grind a little off the centering pin. Is that an option?

Not really as there is a seal at the very end and will definetly get into that. Its not the male side its the female side that bottoms. I shouldent have to do anything but bolt it up. Do you have a LG solid? Did you mesure its thickness?

Well Tick just installed mine and Jonathan didn't say he had any problems. Maybe you could call him at the shop and see how mine went in?

If it ends up you are really are the king of odd ball car crap then you should be able to find some shim washers to space it out. They'll be machined at a fixed thickness unlike regular washers which can vary one to another.

Ok so after alot of calls here is what I have.

All rubber bushings (10mm or 12mm,GM or BMW) mic exactly 1.100" thick.

LG and a few other companys I contacted sell solid 10mm bushings that are 1.0" thick

LG 12mm bushing is 1.125" thick

I talked to Anthony at LG and he said that the 10mm solid was made specific for the carbon drivshaft and that was the only resone he could see is why it was only 1.0" Also that they have never heard of a problem like this.

So I called a few other venders that make the 10mm solid and they were only 1.0" thick too!

So i ended up milling down the area were it was contacting on the driveshaft side by .09" now its seats flush and bolted it alltogether. Granted the input now sits .1"shorter along with the front bearing its not enough to hurt anything that I can see.

Bottom line is venders should be making these 10mm bushings at a minimum 1.1"thick just like they do the 12mm. But since everyone upgrades to a 01 style TT theres not gonna be a mad rush to do so.

Next time Ill just get an 01 and be done with it.

Out of curiosity, where did you get your BMW TT bushing? Notice any extra harmonics w/ the aluminum bushing?
Thanks
