So When I am cruising slowly around 35 to 45 in 6th.
30 to 40 in 5th, etc, etc and I go to accelerate my car makes a major metallic sound. The engine runs smooth and the clutch does not slip. It sounds like the slight rocker/valve noise when you are idling and the car is cold. This is when the engine is warm and you are trying to accelerate in a real high gear. What could this be and is it potentially harmful? This is in a 2003 Z06.
I have had my car tuned by chuck cow. I always run 93 octane, but fuel companies are running their "winter mix" and there definitely is such a thing. Is this knocking what I am experiencing?
