Engine is running very loud
I've got a 97 coupe, and yesterday when I drove it, the engine sounded a lot louder than how it usually sounds during acceleration. The RPM's seemed OK since they were at around 2,000, but it was a lot louder than how it usually runs.
I haven't souped this car up, but right now it sure sounds like it. Anyone have any ideas on what this might be? Thanks.

...check for the obvious -
Loose Ex. pipe clamps, over the axle pipe not hitting the frame, loose anything - just take a look while its running and parked.

Another thing you might consider in addition to those mentioned in the above posts:
There is the possibility that the baffles inside the mufflers are deteriorating, especially if the 97 has accumulated some high mileage.
I personally think you will find a loose or leaking connection, since the increased noise seems to have presented rather suddenly.

i came by last night and drilled holes in your exhaust. i didn 't think it was loud enough. ;)
