Borla Stage I exhaust system
Has anyone installed a Borla Exhaust sytem for their C-5???
If so first of all, how does it sound? is it louder than stock and
second has anyone installed it their self?? Can you simply take off the stock
system and replace with the new or do you have to take apart any part of the car..
Thanks Joe

As I am driving a complete MagnaFlow-System (.....awesome System - all parts real Jewels in any scale, producing real mean deep tone V8-sound, some powerful "crying" when passing at higher rpm), including their Crossover-Pipe, I can not reply to your complete inquiry.
But for the "CatBack-Part" of your question: YES, those systems are real easy to work with (I think this goes for any Brand). There is no cutting, no welding required. They connect to the existing flanges at the end of the existing "H-Pipe". Just in front of the rear axle assembly, you have those flanges (left and right). So, they connect (use new gaskets as well) to the "over-the-axle Pipes" and those to the mufflers. The stock mufflers are kept within special rubber-/metal hangers, your new mufflers go to the very same position. The rest is: final alignment of the exhaust-tips. You are done. The hard part is probably to choose a System for your specific liking - so take your time and try to check-out all the BIG PLAYERs by driving with fellow owners all around.
Good luck to you!
Joe.
I bought them from a forum member.
Here is a pic. I currently have the SLP
system (great sound), but I saw the awesome 4" diameter
Borla tips on a C5 and I was hooked. The Borla's
make a vette sound like a vette! I can send you a mpeg
once they are installed.
The real joy is when you start pushing the RPM's
The sound of the motor and the gears winding up when you're shifting is the way a Vette should sound :D
