Q-jet choice
What do you think about these carbs for an 81,350 slightly modified.
1. 17059284
2. 17058213
3. 7045212
The electronic carb and distributor had been removed before I got the car. A 17080213 was in its place. I am having trouble getting it to lean out.

Are those Rochester, Carter, or Edelbrock part numbers? Also, what carb did the car come with? Usually a simple rebuild, with a jet/metering rod change to accomodate any modifications you made, is sufficient.

Numbers 1 & 2 are from the late 1970’s era (78 –79)
Number 3 is from around 1975 – the start of the catalyst emissions era.
Post this in the C3 TECH section.
Is it too rich at full throttle, mid-range, or at idle only?
The Rochester Q-Jet is a very underrated carburetor. It can be touchy to dial-in, but once dialed-in it’s an ideal street carb.
You can find a wide variety of jets and metering rods available to accomplish proper fuel ratio.
You need to find a shop with an older engine mechanic with experience.
