Default Fuel Line Disconnect Tool?

Is their something I am missing? I'm trying to take the fuel rails off a 2000 Corvette. I bought the disconnect tool and it doesn't seem to want to come off. I don't want to pull too hard and break it, any advice?

Just make sure it's the right size. Should be 3/8's inch I think...

Then just let the car sit for awhile to let the pressure bleed off and yes sometimes you do have to push the little tool "into" the fuel line pretty hard to get it to pop off...

Insert the 3/8" disconnect tool over the rail stub tube, and while pushing the hose in (towards the rail), push the disconnect tool into the fitting outwards, towards the hose.

Once the tool is fully "in" the fitting and releases the internal clips, the hose should pull right off the rail.

Sometimes there is a little dirt in there that jams things up. Spray a little carb cleaner to get out any debris.

I forgot to mention that but it is a PITA if you don't push in on the hose too...

Also, you can use the two screw driver method. I had problems getting enough leverage using the tool and took 2 small/short screw drivers and pushed on either side and it cam off in a heart beat. That was after 1/2 of trying to use the tool.

Mine can be a little bit of a pain sometimes too. Sometimes repositioning the tool helps. Maybe one of the locking fingers gets into the slot or opening of the tool and doesn't get pressed in. I try rotating the tool slightly one way or the other.

I think someone kinda already said this, but you need to set the disconnect tool into place, then push the fuel line into the tool (towards the rail), then pull it off (holding the tool against it). The first action releases the clips, the second holds them apart to clear the "lip" that the clips hold onto.

The first time I tried it, I shoved the tool into the fuel line thinking it would disconnect and release. This intuitive motion does not work.
