Door adjustment ???

OK got a question on my car the drivers door seems to close to far in I have reset the hinges and adjusted the door position and all that stuff but I can't get the door to shut the right way.
The striker won't adjust far enough outboard so the door closes correctly, it is in about a 1/4 of an inch to far.
Is this a problem with the door or something with the striker or could it be the quarter panel sticking out to far?

A few Questions that may help someone help you.
The door panel is recessed ¼ inch top to bottom along the rear fender line?
How is it along the bottom rocker panel front to rear – (hinge to striker)?
You’re saying the door panel fits OK at the front fender top to bottom and is level horizontally at the bottom (along the rocker panel), but along the length of the door, the door gradually “sinks” inward ending up recessed a ¼ inch?
Did you purchase to car with this condition? Was the door a good fit until removed for some reason?
Good Luck – Sooner or later the right person will see this post. Keep bumping it “ttt”.
Also as the door comes around on its way up from close to the brake scoop it looks good but as it goes up from the seam in the quarter panel, the seam between the door and quarter panel gets wider.
And compared to another car my top is further down toward the ground than it should be, it fits tight against the window frame, his sits up with a ¼ inch gap in between the window frame.
It appears to make the quarter panel look like it’s sticking up higher than the top and the door. Could the quarter panel be up to high and to far outboard?
I pulled the interior trim out and didn't see any damage so I pulled the quarter panel and rocker panel off. I found out why the door closes to far there is damage underneath the rocker panel. The previous owner didn't tell me about. The frame is 100% but some how something hit the car right where the door striker is. There are three pieces of sheet metal that come together there and form a pinch weld. The previous owner tried to repair the area but didn't do a very good job of it. There are two places where it was cut so that they could access the damage but once they realized there was another piece of metal in between they quit and didn't even bother to close the two places they cut.
I ordered a Mo-Clamp "B" and it should be here tomorrow I guess I will rig up and do my best to pull the damage out this weekend, I'm hoping that I will be able to fix it as good as new but we will see.
Ya'll wish me luck I just can't leave her like this.
The MO-Clamp "B" worked great it pulled all the metal out like new, I dollied out the other areas put some new seam sealer on the repair and it looks, sounds and feels great.
The door closes like brand new. I am going to back the hinges up a little to make the body seams look just right. It's crazy but in the car you can actually hear the differance.
