oil temp?
let my car warm up this morning to bring to work to have the radio replaced. got in the car and checked the oil temp and it said low. the car ran for about 30 min before I left and I drove for about 10 min and it still said low when I got to work.
did the oil temp sensor go bad?
if so where is it located?
will this affect anyhting else on the car besides just the display?

What was the actual oil temperature?
It takes a loooong time for the oil to get up to temperature if it is just idling, and you need to drive 15 or 20 minutes to get to temperature.
However, I don't think I have ever gotten a low temperature warning, so I am not sure what the parameters are to set the code.

just pulled the car in the shop and when I started it it read 78 degrees for the oil temp after sitting for about 2 hours
so im thinking it was just to cold outside or something like. it was about 20 degrees this morning. Or maybe its starting to go out i dont know

10 minutes in those temperatures wouldn't be enough to get it up there, but as mentioned, I'm thinking too that the message may not clear until you restart. Pull your codes just in case.

AAAh,,,you got to it before me
!!! I drive mine all through the winter and had it happen several times,,seems to do it below 20 degrees. I always had to shut it down before it would register temp again!!

Anytime my oil temp starts out reading low I have to shut off and restart to get it to come up correctly.

In my C4 track car I have a pretty decent size oil cooler. Anytime the outside air temp is about 50-60 or cooler it will not get to 150 degree oil temp if you are cruising on the highway. In the fall I put a big piece of cardboard infront of the oil cooler and radiator to try to get the temps up a bit but even that doesn't work when it's cold out for my oil really.
