I have Flowmasters on my vette and love the sound. I also get tons of compliments on their looks. I have even had people follow me into a store just to ask me what kind of pipes I have.
Funny thing is people seem not like them as much once I tell them they are Flowmasters, like it is "out of line" to put them on a vette??
I have them on mine and I really do like them. However, I have never heard any other exhaust other than stock. I don't have any mod crazy friends, so I have nothing to compare them too.
They are definately more aggressive than stock. Mean sound but not redneck, not that there is anything wrong with rednecks. Just my opinion though. :chevy
I have flowmasters on my '01 coupe and love them. The fit is perfect. I had them on my last Vette, a 91 vert 6-spd and was very happy with the sound , quality, and SOP improvement feel. They have been in the business longer than most of the other manufacturers and their reputation is good. Also, I didn't think it made sense to replace perfectly good new car parts when all I wanted was new mufflers. I wholeheartedly recommend them.
I don't have the part number, but they only have two choices for the C-5. The ones I got have stainless "double D" tips. They are supposed to have a set with round stainless tips too. You could call them direct for information @ 800 544-4761. I bought mine through, and had them installed at a local muffler shop. As far as keeping the original tips goes you might want to go with the built-in tips and just save your entire original mufflers and tips. That's what I did.
Do you have a part number or name of the mufflers you bought??? I would like to keep my factory chrome tips too. :D
