Good morning, have you thought about a trash screen uinder the opening for the air intake area ? Very easy installation and works rather well.

The fan running would probably cause you to suck up more grass. I would do the screen over the opening. You can buy aluminum screen used in home construction at the Home Depot for about $7 for a piece about 2' x 8', enough to make a bunch for yourself and your friends. If you check out some of the vendors sites you can see how it installs. A couple of them even sell their kit for about $50 and it's made from the same $2 worth of screen. BTW, before the screen I once found a Mickey D's french fry container up in my radiator.

One problem -A screen will block airflow.

How about just killing the grass on your drive?

Get some good paper and let the grass dry--roll it and enjoy it

The screen I was writing about is not a fine screen mesh like on a window, it is a larger type of diamond shaped holes that are used in plaster walls, I think. It has no negative affect on airflow whatsoever, my car still runs cool with it installed. If anything, it probably stays running cool longer because no trash can be sucked up into the radiator core.
