I had posted a thread about mods for my 2000 coupe 6speed and got a ton of great information and advice. To summarize I will be going the NA route and hope to get about 410 to 425rwhp. Given that number I am thinking about a change to the diff ratio.
I dont think I want to go the 4.10 route or even the 3.90 alternative, but looking hard at the 3.73 ratio as a compromise. One that would not having me pulling excessive rpm's to cruise around, but that would give me a little more perceived torque and quickness.
What do you guys think? Good idea or not? I mainly will be using the car on the street with an occassional run at the 1/4 mile.
If you are going to change, I would recommend at least the 3:90s with your 6 speed. I would post to see if anyone in your area has a car with the 3:90s or 4:10s and go for a spin before you invest in a diff change. By the way if you do change the diff out you can easily sell the 3:42s you have to an a4 guy.
