Default check engine flashing

Have a 01z with a slp402 n a d1sc procharger, was running it hard the other night (may have fractured a law or 2) it started to miss for alittle bit but came out of it. Now I am getting blue smoke out of the exhaust, it has the same oil pressure and doesn't knock. Talked to someone at Doug Rippie and they said new pistons are in my near future cause slp used junk pistons in these blocks and it should have never had a blower on it (was done by previous owner). I don't have any codes but the check engine is flashing, just wondering what the heck it means? I guess I am just wondering what other things to check before bring it up to them? I have pulled the coil wires on each cylinder and they all seem to be firing but should I change the plugs? I am assuming the blue smoke out of the exhaust means the rings are gone on a piston or two but could it be anything else? I also am getting quite a bit of air out of the oil filler hole when it is running and it blew the dipstick out too. Like I said, I was running the **** out of it lol Sounds like I will be 5 grand lighter in the wallet to me

The flashing check engine light comes on with the misfire code, P0300. The fact you don't get the code probably means someone attempted to tune that code out.

Blowing the dipstick out is never a good sign, and with all you described, you may well be right about the state of the pistons/rings.

An easy check you could do is pop the valvecovers and inspect the valve springs...a broken one could produce the same sort of results, especially if you dropped a valve.
And yes, at the very least, pull the plugs and study them, they will help you figure out which of the cylinder(s) is dead.

Thanks for the reply, I can't recall having that code, I will check it again and pull the plugs when I get a chance. rippie can't get it in for a couple weeks so I got time. They said slp used a very low quality piston that was never ment to be boosted. They use a custom Je piston with the rings lower on the skirt, by going to that piston I can run more boost like I want to. I am having issues with my oz700 clutch also, so it needed to go up there anyway, not going to be cheap but it needs to be done.

a flashing check engine light means that you have over 50% misfire on one or more cylinders, and you could damage the cat converter (i bet you don't have one anyway)
