C5 stops after 2 seconds in drive? Help please.

C5 stops after 2 seconds in drive? Help please.
It drove fine earlier, but after starting it up 20 minutes later the car would die after putting it in drive/reverse and gassing for 2 seconds. It would also occur when the car would move forward using no gas pedal.
The car idles fine and will stay on while in drive if the car does not move.
Anyone ever had this problem?
I get the Service Column Lock message on the Hud.

just read that you need to go to a dealer or buy the $50 unit to bypass this...is there no way to just reset this so my car can drive home?
If i go to the dealer, is this a recall or will i be paying the stealership?
