Intermittent horn - not the bladder
For example,, I'll start the car in the mornig, try the horn and get nothing: drive somewhere, turn the car off, restart the car, the horn works.Might keep working all day or might go away after the next restart and stay "gone" for a few days, or might continue to work for a week.
Its not the bladder because when the horn is not working and I use the key fob to lock the car, I don't get the horn "chirp". More importantly, if I use the key fob to set off the panic alarm, all I hear is the relay turning on and off. So I don't think its the relay.
I went to the dealer hopeing there might be a TSB on this and all I got was that "deer caught in the headlights" look - no clue.
I've done several searches but everything I come up with relates to the bladder and I really don't think that"s the problem, nor do I think its the relay since I can hear the relay working when I hit the panic button.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
Good tip. I would start by checking the resistance to ground from pin A of the horn connector.
