Having my LS6 block worked on at a local machine shop. Have not had anywork done in a long time and want to see if we're in the ballpark price wise or if I should look somewhere else.

He is going to:

Clean/tank block and bore .006 out of it
"check" cam bore alignment
deck the block
turn crank and install.
He will provide and install forged pistons/rings, rods, all bearings, and my provided cam .

$3100.00

I might add that this shop has a very good reputation for producing reliable strong engines.

Not a bad price with it including the new internal parts, what Rods/Pistons will be used?

So its $3100 to uninstall the block and disassemble, completely rework the block, new forged pistons/rods, assemble, and install?

Id say thats pretty good.

I'm thinking that price does not include pulling the motor....
