Default HID headlamps

Someone told me that corvette motorsports or DJ motorsports sold HID headlamps for C5s.

Does anyone have any contact info?

Thanks,
Kerry

I purchased a set of these and basically they are Chinese medium quality product. The installation went as instructed, the components seem fine but the ballasts are quirky - working sometimes yes, sometimes no. The high beams are worthless, the low beams work but only when the ballasts work.

For the $400 I would not purchase these again. I pulled miine off after about 3 weeks and threw them in the trash. My lights are now OEM bulbs that work all the time and cost a whole lot less.

Enjoy.

I am not aware of any of these problems with my kit. You should have contacted the seller.

I did and he is a very nice guy. These headlight kits just did not live up to their hype - in my opinion. I want lights that work, provide good visibility and are trouble free. These did not make the grade so I made a choice and went back to OEM.

Like I said, I would not purchase these again. For someone else, well; that's your choice.

Enjoy

Default HID's

I bought an HID kit for my last C5, (2000 Coupe) from DJ motorsports and was pretty satisfied with it. The lights look a million times better than the OEM bulbs and they were crazy bright. The installation was pretty easy and the price was fair. I just traded that car for a 2001 6-Speed and will be purchasing another HID kit from DJ Motorsports in the next few days.

Two things before you buy:

1. Make sure you aim the lights a little more down and in than your stock bulbs or you will get lots of angry drivers flashing their lights at you (these are really bright)

2. Every once in a while one of the lights wouldn't fire and I'd have to turn the headlights off for a few seconds and then turn them back on . It didn't happen very often, but I thought you should know. Based on what I've heard about other HID kits, it was a relatively insignificant quirk to deal with...

I got a set from JWmotoring and they have been great. No problems. I was worried about other drivers at first but have gotten no flashes at all. I figured people would flash at me if they were looking too bright or shining in faces. I didn't have any need to change aiming at all and have not seen that issue as a problem with HIDs.

I also think these are plug and play easy and the writer who had problems is not the usual.

And JWmotoring who is a vendor here is the best place to get them for price/quality.

What's the difference between the regular vs. slim ballasts? Do either have specific applications or are they interchangeable?

The size is the only difference. My supplier told me the slims were designed because some cars don't have extra room under the hood for the bigger ones. Our C5s have plenty of room for either one.
