Default Air Cleaner Box

What is the easy way to remove the aircleaner box. I have a Dual Cone intake on the way and just want to know what Im doin before I do it. Everything looks pretty simple, but Ive read somewhere on here there is a trick to getting the cover off. Thanks Rick

I just did mine. had to put the stock box on for smog check. When you take it off the best way imo is to loosen the clamps on the air duct & pop it off the pins on the top of the rad. cover so you can move everything up & back . There are two grommets on the bottom front of the air box that pop on pins. its a tight fit, but it just pops off straight back . Also have the clamp loose on the box where it connects to the maf. because you have to lift the airbox straight up to get it out. Its kind of hard to get in there because of the hood . but its not too bad. Hope this helps you.

Do not attempt to remove the TORX pegs, just pull the assembly off the pegs at the grommets. The two on the front of the assembly are attached to the horizontal cross member behind the fascia. Those are the two that give everyone fits. Reach them between the hood and the bumper fascia. Spray a little lubricant once you locate them with your hands and pull straight back towards the motor.

When you re-assemble, use a more permanent lubricant (white lithium works well) to reattach the the grommets over the TORX pegs.

It's possible that your dual cone won't be using the pegs/grommets arrangement. So think about that entire assembly hanging on with nothing but the bellows at the throttle body (if using an after market air bridge).
