If you reach in between the hood and the front cover (when the hood is up obviously) you can feel a small weather pack connector. That will unplug the light if you leave the hood up for a long period of time.
Why I am asking, in case of crankcase relearn there is condition written:
1. Set the parking brake and block the drive wheels. Make sure that the hood is closed.
And whole procedure is performed with parking brake ON and blocked wheels...
We are not able go through the VATS relearn for EXPORT models (BTW is the same as USA and Canada models) so I am looking which condition I have hold during VATS relearn. In some models (pontiac?) there was that doors MUST be closed all the time during VATS relearn.
This is from service manual for 97 Export:
Turn ON the ignition leaving the engine OFF for 11 minutes.
Turn OFF the ignition for 30 seconds.
Turn ON the ignition leaving the engine OFF for 11 minutes.
Turn OFF the ignition for 30 seconds.
Turn ON the ignition leaving the engine OFF for 11 minutes or until DTC P1630 sets.
Turn OFF the ignition for 30 seconds.
Turn ON the ignition leaving the engine OFF and wait 30 seconds.
Attempt to start the engine.
Not much of a light anyway. I just mounted the GMC under hood work light to the radiator shroud and pluged it into the existing hood light connect harness. The GMC work light has an on/off switch and a ten foot reel. [IMG][/IMG]
Dumb question but is the dimmer turned all the way up to bring the courtesy lights on? Test drove a new one years ago with a dead battery....that was why!
