do you guys think 51psi oil presure at 165 deg at idle is okay for a car running 15w50 and a ported shimmed oil pump

Um.. yes. That's way more than you need at idle. My 03Z with a ported and shimmed stock pump makes about 45psi at idle with 5W 30 Royal Purple at operating temp.

did alot of reading and it seems a lot of engine builders are using 15 50 in supercharged setups ....since my kit uses engine oil to cool the supercharger my oil temps run a little higher than most

I can't speak for SC setups, but the rest of the engine was designed for 5W30, not the heavier oils. Just a concern on my part that's all. You do as you wish with your engine.

Did you build the engine or did someone else do it? If someone else did it, ask them what you should use.
