I have this weird, not sure where it came from cloudy film on the inside and outside on all of my windows and windshields. It took me forever to get most of it off. My Vette sits alot in the garage and im not a smoker. Any know what it is and how to get rid of it??? Thanks for any help!
I have the same thing happening....I believe its off gassing from the vinyl and or plastic in the carpet I have on top of the dash and the occasional use of the sun blocker..
Ive also theorized that since the vents from the circulation system are there it could also be just crud that is deposited from the outside as you drive
Also it will be worse if you used some sort of stuff on the dash like ArmorAll...it'll be much worse on the inside and a serious pain to remove. Its outgassing the chemical and sticking to the colder windshield.
Grade 0000 Steel wool is ultra fine, it does not scratch glass, it will not scratch glass. I been using it on new cars prepped for delivery for 3 years when I worked at the Dealer, they were using it before I got there and still after I left.
If you dont believe me it is OK but dont tell people it will scratch glass if you dont know so!

I recall glass shops using bronze wool to clean class. You might call some shops or find it at an automotive paint supply vendor.
Or straight ammonia, but be careful around tinted glass...

OK you said regular steel wool. Yep that will scratch glass.
However the way the post was worded it made it seem like any grade will scratch glass cause glass scratches easy.

However glass is pretty strong and it takes a lot of effort to actually scratch it. If it scratched easy we would be replacing our glass like the tires we wear out. The glass is harder and stonger than the paint on your car.

That is why it takes a diamond cutter to cut glass.
