Hi Guys - I finally got my car charged up and started but I am having problems with my driver side power seat. Basically, it goes to the max horizontal position (back of the car).
symptoms:
when I try to use the switch to get it closer to the front of the car nothing happens.
When I turn off the car I hear a clicking noise coming from the seat
when i touch the motor directly under the front part of the seat, it is hot.
funny I'm having the same problem today with my passengers side sport seat. Does anybody here on the forum know whats wrong with these seats? If left plugged in the battery will go dead quickly. Help!
It would appear that your switch is stuck in the on position continually sending power to the seat motor. I believe the clicking noise is in the seat gears that have reached their limit and are slipping against the power from the motor. This will heat up the motor and kill the battery fairly quickly. Take a good look at the switch.
