Default Cigarette lighter?

Anyone ever have any trouble with it? Seems mine let go of the sleeve that holds the lighter element, and now the piece which holds that sleeve is kind of floating around behind the fascia plate. Is it necessary to remove the whole center console to get to it? Looks like there's a torx screw right next to where the lighter is....

TIA

I have taken mine apart several times but each time that outlet plug doesn't connect properly when I reinstall the console, so it doesn't get any power to work. I am at my wits end.

you'll have to take the radio bezel out to get to the back side of the lighter. to get to that, you'll have to slide the center console back and remove the traction control plastic piece. then you have 2 screws in the ashtray area, and 1 behind the temp sensor near the ignition.

That's kind of what I figured, having to basically disassemble the entire area just to get to it. It's almost the same drill as installing an aftermarket shifter......

yeah, but it's pretty quick and easy to do. I can get my radio bezel out in 5 minutes.

The screw next to the lighter is one of many holding in the console, another hidden behind ash tray.
