I just got a call from VARARAM that they are now producing the Ram Air kit for the C5. Anyone else done this yet.... They are claiming 35+ HP and 4/10 on a track. http://www.vararam.com Anyone on this?
4 tenths and 35hp sounds WAAAAY optimistic for any sort of cold air/ram air kit. I wouldn't buy into that one. I'd assume numbers comparable to Vortex and Halltech. :yesnod:
I think we need some hard data. How long does it take for Vararam to install a system on a stock C5 and run the dragstrip a couple of times and then the same night hook back up the stock system? Display the results and share. I will not buy anything from them until some results are posted by drivers with the system. :bs
0-60N4,
Why, did they call YOU??................
Are you IN with them, or did you request info.......this product has been promised for quite a spell now.........
Seeing is believing........Hurst is FINALLY coming through, and with good reports........
I can tell you this for a certainty.......if the Vararam system nets 30/35 rwhp.......then they will sell all they can make..............and just about name their price......everyone else would be OUT of Bidness..........
After reviewing the pictures on their site, I can't see any area in that intake for any kind of air filter that would support the amount of air an LS1 would consume, or is it just an open ram air for the strip?
Because of the very optimistic gains they publish I think everyone is waiting for an unbiased opinion, a non-affiliated customer's results. Such information will be here shortly as VaraRam has started delivering the VR1-B kits.
I know everyone is going to be pleasantly suprised with the results. Everyone except those that already have a cold air intake system that doesn't want to have to worry about upgrading if they are to have the best.
Water ingestion is no more an issue with this kit than the stock airbox. You'll have to submerge the nose of the car in order to pull in enough water to damage anything. It's safer than the bottom breathers because of it's design, which are located under the nose near or at the airdam.
