Temperature Gauge Reading 265
Has anyone come across their temp gauge going all the way to 265 and seeing the digital readout display "xxx" temp? I just put in a new battery tonight and as I was driving home i noticed this. No check engine light, performance issues, smells or noises. Its a 04.

I just replaced the existing, 3 year old Interstate battery with a new Delco and immediately experienced the full-peg temp reading, exactly like you did. No outward evidence of the engine running hot. After I got it home and shot the cylinder head with an IR gun the temp was found to be a normal 200. Read the codes and got a P0116 (coolant sensor). Cleared it with the scanner. Ran the car for 10-15 minutes sitting still and all seems well so far. In the two years I've had this car I've had the Interstate battery disconnected several times with no ill effects. Changed the battery one time and whammo.
