Default Fast Flashing Left turn only?!

Hey guys, recently did TheRadioFlyer's Halo mod (which are sweet btw) and am upgrading my cutouts with the QTP controller from the regular toggle switch. I installed a relay using this brown wire on the ignition (not sure what it does) as a trigger as suggested by another forum member.

The halo install went off without a hitch and tonight I was finishing up my controller install when I accidentally hit the turn signal stalk with my arm. When the blinker came on, it was very fast . I tried the right turn signal and it blinks regularly.

I checked the taillights and they were working normally (all 4) and the front turn signal bulbs (factory amber, not switchback LED's) were both working. I hooked up the relay to both the QTP controller and my cove neons (which work fine). Any ideas? I realize Corvette Enhancements has the relay to stop this, but the thing that bugs me is only one side does it! Did I mess something up with the trigger wire? What exactly did I tap into? Thanks in advance!

That's kind of strange I agree......after installing Richards' resistor I've had no problems with my led signals

The brown wire powers fuses 9, 10 and 11 in instrument panel fuse block. Those fuses feed the wipers-10, the BCM-11 and the yellow wire-11 that is capped off and part of the plug that you will find on the left side of the passenger footwell. That yellow wire is the one you should have used since it is already connected and fused for 20A and left for your own use. There is a black ground wire and I believe a red constant power in the 3-wire harness. The wire ends are just taped over.

So, there is no reason connecting to the brown wire would have caused any problems with your signals. Have you tried them again with the car running? The flasher might act up if the battery voltage is a little low.

If they continue to be a problem you can bypass the factory flasher.

Oh yeah, FYI - the schematics show is a spare terminal on the ignition switch that is powered in acc, on and start positions. That could come in handy for some people. It's shown as spot E in the connector.

Thanks for all the info, the factory harness that I was planning on using doesn't exist on the '04 vette... I know, I was surprised too. I had a few pics of the harness from an '03 and on my car it just had a hole where the harness was usually held, and I bought the car new so I know no one else took it apart. So that's why I used the brown wire instead! I guess I'll just have to go with the flasher bypass and hope for the best. The battery was fully charged (on a battery tender all winter. The car is still on jack stands from the winter and won't be started for a few weeks until I get all my modding done (been TDY for 6 months and have neglected the car way too much).
