I had to retrain my key fobs after installing a new battery. Now my doors lock them selves after about a minute or so, even if I go back and unlock them manually. This is with the car shut off. So basically I can't keep the doors unlocked. I would like the doors to be locked when I want them locked not when the car wants. Is there some way to program this out ?
I'm not 100% sure but I think your passive may be responsible. Unlock when approach and lock when out of range. Example would be walking by Vette to get in other car would unlock Vette when walking by, this way it will be secure? But I'm sure someone else can correct me if wrong?
Slide switch at bottom of remote. Is it to the left? That turns off the passive unlock.
From what I understand, the passive lock basically works by the remote transmitting a signal when it is moving (in your hand or pocket as you walk to the car). When the car receives the signal it unlocks. If you quit moving the remote, the remote will quit transmitting and the car will quit receiving the signal so it locks the doors again.
If you have it turned on and are working around the car with the keyfob in your pocket you will find it keeps unlocking and locking. Not only when you go out of range but also if you stop moving for a bit.
sometimes when you open the FOB, the passive feature gets out of sync with the switch position - just slide the switch back and forth a time or two, then to the off position, it should be disabled
My passive switch on my FOBS (I have three) do not seem to be disabled. All three FOBs still lock the car from the kitchen! The spare keys stay in a kitchen drawer, and if somone opens the drawer, my car locks and unlocks.

Great info. Just changed the battery in the key FOB. Shortly thereafter it started locking and unlocking when I was around the car! This thread saved me some hassle for sure!
