Default Side mirror broken

Has any one had their right side mirror come loose? Basically it can pull right off and is only help on by the wiring & cables. I can see inside the cover with the mirror fully turned and it looks like the push on fastening clip has slipped off. It controls the spring that keeps the mirror in place. Does the glass come out without removing the entire mirror assembly? If the glass were out I may be able to push the clip back on.
Has any one had this problem and have the procedure?
