Default AC Idler Pulley Question

All,

This may be a dumb question, but I am in the process of fixing my AC belt noise, and I am trying to get an AC idler pulley. Currently Autozone only lists one idler pulley for my 98. I thought the AC idler Pulley was different than the main idler pulley.

Can anyone validate this for me please...

You are correct, the two idler pulley's are different...the belts are actually different widths...

Buy the same PN that Autozone uses for the AC TENSIONER pulley and you'll be all set. Just use one tensioner pulley for the tensioner and use the other TENSIONER PULLEY for the AC idler arm...

I did this for mine and found this out on the forum, the pulley's are the exact same...

Take care,
DZ

I had to buy mine at advance auto parts because the other places showed them to be the same. They are not.

SPD,

You're referring to the main idler and AC idler not being the same right?

Cause the AC idler and tensioner pulley's ARE THE SAME.(at Autozone anyway)

Default Thanks

That is what I thought but was not sure; however I did not know that the AC Tensioner Pulley and the AC Idler Pulley were the same
