I have a Corsa X-pipe coming too for my 2002. I don't believe that there have been any exhaust changes made to the car between 2001 and 2002, at least not behind the cats. I'd be really surprised if it didn't fit. I'll know for sure in a week or so.
RepVette02, I'm not sure what you mean by "required". I don't think its really required by any model year. Maybe your saying that the 2001 and 2002 are less susseptable to popping during deceleration because of the pre-cats? This could be possible. I think that the popping will be old after a while, so I want to reduce it as much as possible. The X pipe certainly can't hurt.
Need for Speed, I'm still trying to decide if I'll install it myself in my garage or have it done at a shop. My x-pipe and exhaust should be here later next week. It's still cold here in Minnesota, so if I do it myself, I'm going to wait for a little warmer day. I will report my experiences after I have it done.

Mark,Thanks - this is what I meant - Didn't think popping was a problem on 2001 & 2002.
I have an '01 convertible and had Corsa Indy exhaust installed. Drove it around later that day and listened to a lot of popping / burbling (mostly popping) during upshifts between gears and during deceleration. Took the car back and had the Corsa X-pipe installed. No difference. Still pops.
The stock exhaust system has a short crossover tube (about 1-1/2' diam or so) at 90 degrees between the 2 main exhaust pipes located downstream of the "post-cats" for equalizing the popping / burbling with the stock mufflers. The Corsa and Bassani X-pipes (around 2-1/2" diam) reduce the angle of intersection between the 2 main exhaust pipes to around 45 degrees or so (hence the "X") which also happens to be a better match for the exhaust flow out the tailpipes. Most manufacturers claim this flow path enhances reduction of the popping and burbling sound because more of the exhaust in seen by the larger opening in the "X" pipe and balancing is promoted. For my money it has only increased the decibels and made the noise more noticable.
I doubt that any exhaust, be it B&B, Borla, Corsa, etc etc will be any better in this department than the others are. I like the sound of my Corsa's (quiet until romped on during acceleration), typically do not use the transmission and engine for braking (brake pads are a lot easier and cheaper to replace) and am not all that much of a hot-dogger when driving. I do not like the upshift popping I get between gears but plan on doing a Stage II heads and cam soon anyway. I'll wait to see what happens then.
Buy the exhaust system that sounds best to you and enjoy the ride.
I don't know about the 2002 models but I have a 2001 Coupe with the Corsa Indys and I think they pop just as much as my 1998 did with the Corsa Indys.
Well I only have the Corsa Pace Car and my 02 pops like crazy, sounds like a real race car now!!!!! But I think I am going to install the X-Pipe soon because I have been waking up the neighbors in the morning when I start her up.
I like the popping. If anyone laughs at it I just woop :boxing their tail at the track.. Then they wonder how they can get some of that motorboat sound..
Jack, my son and I installed the Bassani X-pipe yesterday. When installed, it completely gets rid of the annoying blups, pops, etc. Now it is mellow, no louder or quieter although I think at WOT, it may be a bit louder. It does have a distinctive sound at higher rpm's.
Easy install, although I have a lift which makes things a lot easier. A lift is required for all those over 50!!!!
:bs
My car sounds almost "stock" quiet at idle with a nice throaty rumble that you and I can hold a conversation over at the rear license plate. The rumble is not a deep bass sound that something like my flowmasters made (on my '89 vette). That's why I chose the Corsa Indy's over everyone else's. I spent 2 months researching and then going around town to MTI Motorsports and looking up friends and listening to their systems. These babies are fairly quiet when just driving around. You can listen to stereo at a pleasant volume, etc.
You do not get any burbling or popping when revving the engine in neutral. Only when under drivetrain load.
I installed a Corsa X-Pipe on my 2002 coupe yesterday. Installation went much smoother than I had anticipated. I did it myself in my garage. I used the chain pipe cutter that Corsa shows on their web site, and it worked really nicely. There isn't much room to work around the pipes. The chain pipe cutter slips around the pipe and then you rotate it back and forth while sqeezing it to cut through the pipe. Piece of cake. The Corsa X-Pipe slipped on and bolted up without any problems. Corsa didn't include directions in the X-Pipe shipping box, but the ones on the Web were perfect. All the measurements were correct and the steps were clear. I took me about 1 hour to do the job, but I could probably do a second car now in about 20 minutes. If you have any questions, let me know.
