Does the LS engines fuel shut off when oil pressure is to low? One would think that the GM engineers designed a oil pressure sending unit that would interact with the fuel delivery system to shut off in the event of low oil pressure. With the column lock problem on early C5's, I have read that it would shut off the fuel delivery system. I raise this question on a recent post that a C5 lost all of its oil because of a oil filter malfuntion or hitting something on the roadway. Most industrial engines have low oil safe guards. Anybody have an experience with this situation?
Lookng in my EFILIVE software I see that there is a "Low Oil Pressure"
warning system in place--The warning lite comes on at specified low oil pressures according to engine RPM-- At 500 RPM it comes on at 5 PSI--at 2000-11 PSI----at 4000-18 PSI and at 6000- 24 PSI
The only engine shut off i see is for coolant overtemp--The engine will go into "hot fueling mode" at 270* and will SHUT down at 284* only after it has been there for 409 seconds-----WOW ---Way too late by my way of thinking !!!
Many modern fuel injected cars turn off the fuel pump when oil pressure goes to 0-the asumption being the car may have been in an accident killing the engine so you want to cut off fuel flow to stop possible fuel fires.

Is this also assuming that all oil pressure sensors fail with a max. oil pressure reading and not zero? It would not be good for your car to shutoff at freeway speed just because the oil pressure sensor failed.
Forgot to mention though---those numbers of PSI and coolant temps are from a STOCK ECM---All of them are changeable with a programmer like EFILIVE or HP Tuners
You can find the wiring to the fuel pump behind the left rear wheel well inner fender. Jack it up, remove the tire, then the few screws around the front portion. You will find a wire bundle and connector to the fuel pump, I seem to remember that it was a gray wire that ran the pump.
With the schematic in you manual it will make a lot of sense once the fender is opened up, not a difficult job.
