I have a very log wait to get my powerloader{3 months}, but my converter and trasgo shift kit will be here sometime next week. And as an insult to injury my, friend with a Moded (LT Headers, SLP X-pipe, SLP LoudMouth Exhaust, Hypertech, and Ram Air) 2000 Trans Am A4 2.73 is dead even with me in my 2001 Corvette Convertible A4 2.73. This can not happen! If i install the Yank 2800 stall conveter with the transgo shift kit, do you think I will smoke him? Since i have to wait for the gears and the powerloader for about three months, i could add a cam as well. Then when i do the gears and powerloader i could reprogram for the cam too. So my basic plan is to do the converter and transgo shift kit first because it does not require a PCM reprogram. Then do the mods that do require reprograming the PCM last like gears and the cam when the power loader comes in. Does this sound ok? Do you think i will smoke him with the converter and the transgo shift kit?
Don't bother. Do the converter the same time as the gears. You will already be in there so don't do it twice. The less can go wrong, and if you are paying for the labor they will charge you $600 twice. Just wait for the loader and do them at the same time, without a doubt.
Don't sweat the fact that an LS1 TA can run with you. They are very fast cars from the factory. With the few mods he has it doesn't surprise me that he can keep up.
If you add a cam and gear, your P/L must reflect the changes. You can forward your mods to Steve Cole, before he ships the P/L or you will be in for a much longer wait! It would be a waste to install the T/C before the gear, then you much do it all over again to instl the gear!
Be patient, you will be kicking his butt soon!
