i checked all my fuses and the wires that go to the compressor, and they all appear to be ok. My AC light stays on when i press it. It doesnt flash or anything. However, the clutch never engages. Do the AC relays go bad often? How do i check to see if the relay is working or not?
Easy way to trouble shoot the relay is to swap it with one that works. Look in the elect panel under the hood, see which is labeled A/C( I think it may be #34) and swap it with the one labelled horn. If the A/C works and the horn doesn't, you have a bad relay.
Check the wires going to the compressor. My plug broke somehow and that was my issue. I jacked up the car and looked through the wheel well. You can check for voltage at the pressure switch with the A/C on too.
i checked the plug going to the compressor (the one you can see from above the engine), and it seems to be fine. i also switched the relay with the horn, and still nothing. any more ideas? (i dont have a voltmeter btw :P)

Ok, so how do you want to proceed? You will need a DMM to verify 12 volts and ground at the compressor connector at the very least. If you have 12 volts, and a good ground, then the clutch is probably toast(another thing you can check with a DMM).
