Default Just installed OBX Ebay headers on 99 Vert...

Took about 3 hours with 3 of us.First time we had put headers on a Vette.I had the Dynatech longtube on other Vette installed at a cost of $650 for labor. We installed these with no probs other than the dipstick mount & the brackets on the headers for center support werent long enough but a little engineering & its fine. The ones on Ebay come with resonators so I had to buy hi-flo cats & had the resonator connection end fitted to the cats for about $20 at a muffler shop. The headers sound great with my Corsa Tiger Shark pro series.Only problem is they dont send 02 extensions. I bought a set & they are the square ones.I need the flat ones.Inquiring where to buy these.Anyone knowing where I can buy these I would appreciate the info.Reason I posted this is the question of quality & installation of the OBX headers.Qulaity was very good...installation was realtively easy.Cut my cost by 70% versus the Dynatech & installing them myself.
Have a great day:

Sounds like a good deal as long as people know about the cats and 02's.

BTW: A lot of people don't run the front bracket. They tend to break. I didn't run one on my 346 Dynatechs. AR,s don't even come with them.

Good news, mine are on order. I also picked up the 01-04 air tubes to avoid cutting stock ones. Still need to get the cats and o2 extensions.

Default They work !

We keep several sets of OBX in stock as a low cost alternative -

However, since they do make the same power, after factoring in cats and the extensions it is frankly, a no-brainer.

Those who have the OBX systems, can you comment the quality of the steel, the thickness and quality of the flanges and welds? How is the fitment and placement of the O2 bungs?

With the cats, the OBX is withing a couple hundy of the LG streets, and reason the folks with cats didn't go with LG streets?

I haven't had any problems with my OBX system I installed myself..The welds on mine looked great we took a very strong magnet to the headers and it wouldn't stick at all...The flanges are good and thick and after putting nearly a 1000 miles on the set nothing has come loose or have I had to go back and re tighten anything...

I drilled a 1" hole in the torque tube cover for the passenger side header 02 sensor to have more clearance and the drivers side was fine..

I work at Mercury Marine and there is a lot that we have to do to those "automotive" engines to make them live and perform well on the water. Sure we make money on the, but if we didn't then we would be out of business.

By the way all the ebay sellers have jacked the OBX systems to $649. now. Soon they will cost as much as more popular brands and the haters won't have anything to hate.

Yep, and those that complain about the "corvette tax" will need to find another solution.
