Rattling tranny noise.
Occasionally I hear this rattling noise while the transmission is in neutral, such as at a stop light. The noise goes away when Ishift into gear. Previously, in the T56 of my Z28, it was told to me that the throw-out bearing was bad. After that was replaced, the noise subsided considerably. I was wondering if this is the same thing, highly unlikely IMO, bc the car is so new. So what can cause this noise? Notice that it's only present occsionally. Is this considered "normal"?

Did you get a video with your car?? It explains, and samples the noise you may be talking about. They say it because of the rear mounted tranny.

I get this same noise and,at first, thought I had an exhaust leak or tranny problem. Since then, I've read of similar experiences here and concluded it's just another "characteristic" of the manual tranny. If you let the clutch out slowly in neutral, the noise subsides. :confused:
