i'm thinking its a bent shift fork or something. it only has about 10k miles on it since the rebuild (stock parts), but the place that warrantied it only replaced the gear and synchro. they didn't diagnose anything.
if you don't hold it in gear when you are letting the clutch out, it will pop out of gear and grind. once you let the clutch out, its fine though
i don't know what fluid is in it. the place i bought it from (which "warrantied" it) is now out of business with MANY fraud charges against them. they probably reused the old fluid to save money.
If its falling out of gear, i beleive that is a key problem for the syncro sleeves.
had the same problem with a 98 mustang cobra I had way back.... only happened in second gear, but became more and more frequent as time went on. after getting syncro replaced, it was perfect.
