Car wont start help !
I just bought a beautiful corvette, havent any problems until now,got in car after picking my son up from school and it wouldnt start took battery out , it had 12.64 volts , wouldnt jump off , no clicking noise noise, no codes other than abs tractioncontrol , when you turn the key all the gauges go to zero tried to push start it ,but it cut off emediatly and to top it off the steering column locked and wont unlock, its an 02 6 speed 140,000 miles i need your help so i know where to start and hopefully wont get robbed ! thanks

Sorry to hear about these problems on a new (to you) car.
I would start with the steering column lock, get that fixed and move on to the non-starting issue.

Start with the obvious...pull your codes and post them. Secondly, is the security light flashing on the DIC? If so, its not reading the pellet in the key. Do you hear the TDR relay in the passenger footwell clicking when you turn the key? Do you hear the starter solenoid doing anything? Now the column lock, if its engaged and not releasing is going to stop you from moving by cutting off the fuel but it shouldn't stop the car from starting and idling. Depending on your answers to the above questions can point you to the ignition switch(been a lot of those lately) or something as easy as a lose battery to starter cable.
